Dear friends,
it is our honour to invite you to Slovenia for
the EIWC (The Federation of Europian Irish Wolfhound Clubs) Congress
2008 on behalf of the Slovenian Club for Sighthounds which has
organised the congress in the beautiful surrounding countryside
in the Slovenian Alps.
The venue is situated in the world famous ski
resort Kranjska Gora, where the Ski World Cup takes place every
year. We believe that this location is ideal because it is only
half-an-hour drive from the Karavanken Tunnel, the border between
Austria nad Slovenia, and an hour drive from the Slovenian international
airport Ljubljana. Therefore, the venue is easily accesible, whether
you will be coming either by car or by plane.
The Hotels in Kranjska Gora offer four and three-star
hotel rooms and there are also a camping site for trailers and
spacious exhibition grounds on its premises.

The congress activities will start on Friday
morning, 23 May 2008, starting with The Board meeting and after
that The Rouling Council meeting. The afternoon is reserved for
the Congress and a formal dinner will take place in the evening.
On the following day, Saturday 24 May, the CAC
EIWC Speciality Show will start. We are very proud to announce
that our dear friends, Mrs. Jean Malley (dogs) and Mr. Jim Beham
(bitches), the two most reputable international judges, have accepted
our invitation to judge our show. And we are also very happy to
say that both Mrs. Marija Kavcic and Mr. Stefan Sinko, our two
best Slovenian sighthounds specialists, have kindly agreed to
be judging youth classes.
On the same day, Saturday late afternoon, an informal social occasion
with a barbecue party will take place.
On Sunday 25 May, the final day of the Congress,
our Club is going to organize the Club Speciality Show for Irish
Wolfhounds, where special attention will be paid to young hounds.
The Show will be judged by the same judges, but they will be judging
different classes as the previous day.
 The
itinerary with exact times and activities and all other detailed
information will be announced on our website in coordination with
all the other IWH Clubs worldwide.
In the end we would cordially like to invite
all our Irish Wolfhound friends to come together to see each other
and to enjoy not only the beauties of our noble breed but also
the beauties of Slovenia, our wonderfully picturesque country
on the sunny side of the Alps, in the heart of Europe.
